Dr Catherine West is a PhD-qualified anthropologist with expertise in ethnographic research, analysis, writing, and teaching. As a consultant in the social services sector, she leverages her eclectic skill-set to deliver high-quality work that combines clarity, academic rigour, imagination, empathy, collaboration, and whole-person communication.
In addition to her consultancy work, Dr West is an adjunct lecturer at Deakin University, where she delivers guest lectures in Anthropology. Her ongoing independent social science research focuses on Sri Lanka, with a current project investigating the impact of the pandemic on the social services offered by religious organisations in Colombo.
Catherine is also a coach on Social Agility's Future Leaders program in Melbourne and is collaborating with Esperance Community Arts to develop an ethnography-based program-evaluation tool. This innovative approach will be used to inform grant applications, secure funding, and guide organisational strategy.
Catherine brings her extensive background in research and academia to i-exchange tender writing and evaluation projects.
